Mission Statement

Library Mission The Library of ISD seeks to support the school’s program of academic and personal development by enabling students to become independent and effective users of ideas and information.

Library Philosophy We believe that the Library should provide an environment in which individuals are exposed to ideas through the use of multiple resources. We believe it is our role to foster the development of transferable learning skills and a love of reading in students.

Library Goals and Objectives Students will gain physical and intellectual access to a wide range of materials in various formats and in as many languages as is practical.

Students will be supported in the development of literary appreciation and reading for pleasure.

In pursuance of the School Curriculum and IB programs, teachers and students will be supported by the provision of resources, and consulting and instructional services.

Guidance will be provided for users of Library supplied equipment.

The facility, personnel, resources and services will be managed effectively and efficiently to the benefit of the entire school community.
